I am getting to where I loathe even going to Walmart anymore. I'm wondering if it would't be worth paying the extra I might get charged at some other places here in town
to be able to avoid the hassles I've been having.
I've noticed I have to be VERY watchful at Walmart to avoid being overcharged. Especially on their "clearance" items.
Today, I bought maybe 10 items there, a cherry pie that was marked down to $1.80, which they tried to charge me $3.70. I pointed it out to the cashier, she got an attitude until I pointed out to her that the clearance price was clearly marked right on the bottom of the box. Then a bag of organic apples I bought, marked at $2.98 on the shelf, rang up for $4.98!
I told her the price that was marked on the shelf, but she insisted that the price must have gone up. I told her 2 times what the shelf price was, but she refused to lower it. I went right over to Customer Service and she went and checked the correct price THEN I told her I wanted her to hold to the store policy of if you are over charged for a item $3.00 or under you get the item free. If it is over $3.00 you get $3.00 off your total.
I ended up getting over $5.00 back from the customer service lady.
Next time you go to Walmart keep a careful eye on what you are being charged, especially on clearance items. If they over charge you for anything, demand your item free or the $3.00 off your total.
