What is your favorite thing to cook or bake on a cool autumn day? This cooler weather really inspires me to be busy in the kitchen. I love it!
I am thinking of making some cutout sugar cookies with my seasonal pumpkin and leaves cookie cutters. I'll frost them with a light glaze and sprinkle with colored sugars.
I love autumn cooking! I love to cook up a big pot of homemade stews or soups and bake homemade bread to serve with it.
I also love baking cakes, cookies and pies anytime, but the cooler weather is great for baking here in Texas where it's so hot most of the year.
we always have soup, too... and when we have time, my mom and my sisters and I would go bake some cakes and cookies. just any kind will do. we're not that good in baking (but they're edible! haha...)
Another good dish to cook in fall is roasted vegetables: potatoes, carrots, onion halves, celery, bell peppers, etc...whatever you want to add to the mix. Season with salt/pepper and herbs of your choice.
Fall and Winter cooking is a perfect opportunity for crock pot stews, chili's soupc and baking! This is winter here in Oklahoma now and I truly love to bake banana nut bread or biscuits, cornbread, croissant-dogs and other things. Plus I don't have to worry about over heating the house as in the Summer I rarely bake in summer.. it's more salad and sandwich time then lol
