Lately I've been thinking that " beauty tips for busy moms " could be a hot topic. Especially if you're a new mom (count me in as one of those!!) So I'd love to stir up some discussion on beauty tips for moms.

Having just had my first child in March, I'm still trying to figure out how moms find time for themselves. I figured this idea was bound to get some attention from celebrity moms; so many have had babies recently!.

Sure enough, I heard about an exclusive event held in Hollywood called the "Suave Hot Mom's club Soiree", hosted by celebrity and new mom Mariska Hargitay. The event was put on by Suave (makers of Suave shampoo) and the "Hot Moms Club". I checked them out and found some inspiration at the hot moms club website. I recommend giving them a look to see what they're doing to help busy moms find time for a beauty routine.

I'm also a Suave shampoo enthusiast, but I'd never thought about visiting their website. I checked out Suave and discovered a whole area of their site dedicated to beauty tips for moms. If you go there, check out the podcast of the three blonde moms. It's hilarious. I could especially relate to the mom who showers while standing on one foot and rocking the crying baby in his car seat with the other! Or the mom who says she gets her daughter ready for school, then throws on a baseball cap, sunglasses, and a sweatshirt before she runs out the door. She said she always looks like she's in the witness protection program. Sound familiar to anyone?

If you're a busy mom, let's hear from you ... how do you find time to take care of yourself and keep yourself looking great?

OK, ladies. It can't be THAT hard to come up with ideas! Here's a couple of my discoveries from my first few months of motherhood:

1. Patterned fabrics don't show stains from spitup or leaking breast milk as easily as solid colors, so I wear tops with pretty prints!

2. Even if it seems I have zero time to put on makeup, I can always manage lipstick and eye pencil. It makes me feel so much better!

3. After giving the baby his bath, I always apply lotion to his skin to seal in moisture. This is a great time to moisturize my own hands to keep them baby soft!

Here is one tip.

Use turmeric paste on face. remove it after ten minutes. apply twice a week.
It will remove all dead skin cells and superficial skin problems. It is better than any cosmetic skin treatment in my humble opinion.

Hi Carolyn,

I wrote this article for SaneMommy.com and thought I would share.:)

Looking Your Best ~~ Be Kind To Your Skin

As busy moms sometimes we dont always feel we have enough time in the day to look our best! This may be true, but you can look GREAT in just a few minutes each day. Just like wearing your favorite outfit, youll feel good when you take a little time for YOU!

First, to keep your skin healthy, make sure youre using a good skin care system. Most soaps arent formulated for our face and can strip the natural oils and cause more harm than good. Make sure to find the right system for your skin type; are you dry, oily, combination, acne prone? A skin care system should include at least a facial cleanser and moisturizer. In just a few minutes each morning and evening you can cleanse and moisturizer your face in seconds.

Tips: Remember a little goes a long way. A good rule of thumb after applying moisturizer is to wait a few minutes. If you feel you need more moisture apply another lay. Be careful not to over moisturizer or you may tend to get shine later in the day. You can over moisture!

The three essential MUST HAVES: foundation, mascara and lipstick or gloss.

Foundation: After cleansing and moisturizing apply a foundation that matches your skin tone as well as your neck. Blend well with a damp sponge or a foundation brush. If you find your foundation doesnt blend well you may need more moisture.

Tips: More is not always better. Its best to apply a little and then add more if needed.

Mascara: Find mascara that fits your needs. You may want to add length or thickness. There are many formulates to choose from to give you the look you want.

Tips: To open up your eyes, curl your lashes first before applying mascara.

When it comes to one coat mascara, thats what it means. If you apply more than one coat your lashes may look clumpy and unnatural. Be sure to clean off the mascara wand before applying if you want to apply more than one coat.

Lipstick/Gloss: Youll want to find a lipstick that matches your skin tone; ivory, beige, bronze. If youre not sure a lighter shade lipstick is always best.

Tips: Pamper your lips like you do your face. Youll want to exfoliate your lips a few times a week and keep them kissable with a good lip balm. Apply balm to lips in morning and evening after you have cleansed and moisturized your face to keep them baby soft.

PS I wrote this article some time ago. I also feel using a cheek color or bronzer will add a glow and brighten your face. This should be a must have too!:)

My new "must-have" is hats! I'm having so much fun with hats and scarves and such - but even now that my hair is growing out they are great because if I'm having a "bad hair day" I don't have to spend 30 minutes curling my hair. I just pop on a fabulously stylish hat, and people think I'm so cool (especially all of my daughter's friends!) <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

A time saver, but very expensive - laser hair removal. I can't believe how much time I save in the shower, bleaching and waxing. -- I can't wait to have my legs done, currently I'm having my upper-lip, underarms and bikini area.

If you are thinking about it, do lots of research first. If your curious check out my journal w/ pics at www.laserhairremovaljournal.com

Keep away from the Lougheed Laser Centre Vancouver Burnaby Whistler.

The lougheed laser clinic severely burned me during a laser hair removal treatment. I needed medical attention after the laser hair removal treatment. The Vancouver Lougheed Laser clinic severly burned by legs in a laser treatment then blamed me for their incompetence.

I was horribly burned from the laser hair removal procedure and it took me over two years to heal from the laser burns. I've heard they have burned other women having laser hair removal in Vancouver and Burnaby but they have a high priced lawyer that refuse to admit they do anything wrong.

Stay away from the Lougheed Laser Center for the health of your skin as they may burn your skin with their laser hair removal machine. Their technicians will never mention that they may burn you during their consultation and if they burn you the Lougheed Laser Center will not admit they did anything wrong. Check the better business bureau as I am going to file a report against the Lougheed Laser Centre in Vancouver Burnaby Whistler. I'm also going to file a complaint against them with the College of Physicians and Surgeons for the laser burn injuries. Find a reputable laser hair removal clinic, you won't regret it and will be much happier with the laser hair removal results.

Be careful
Deb

I've tried to shave as many minutes off my beauty routine as possible...because if it takes too long to do it, I won't do it.

Definitely in the first few years, you won't have much time to breathe, much less do your normal routine. At least you will have a "mommy glow." smile

I use a tinted sunscreen...it's actually sunscreen mixed with a little liquid foundation, but you can buy a readymade one such as Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer with SPF. Voila! Sunscreen and foundation in one quick, easily blended layer.

I use stick blush...because it's a dab on each cheek and blend. Since I use my fingers to apply the tinted sunscreen, it's easy to then use the stick blush. (My favorite is Nars the Multiple.)

After that, pressed powder. I use MAC Blot, it's the best for oily skin (no touch ups during the day!).

Once my "base face" is on (this takes less than two minutes I'll bet), I can get away with a little eyepencil. I keep a lipstick in my purse so I can actually put it on in the car (no, I don't apply while driving!).

In 2002 the ladies on my board contributed to a feature called "Five Minute Face":BellaOnline ALERT: Raw URLs are not allowed in these forums for security reasons. Please use UBB code. If you don't know how to do UBB code just post here for help - we will help out!
