hey well today when i woke up i noticed that the male was biting the whole of the box and also at the perch underneath the whole is that good. THEN later on that day i saw only 2 of ma 4 birds in the aviary so i new they were in the box then i waited and the male came out then the female, when the female came out the she was panting is it possible that they might mate in the box? also do they get tired after they mate?

Brilliant - congratulations. I still remember that feeling when my two laid eggs for the first time, also a bi of dread as I never intended to breed. I left them to get on with it and ended up with many broods and babies, unfortunately I was too soft about them and ended up keeping them all!

Wait till you hear that first cheep - it's magic!!

Yes that is right with finches, but i am not sure about with other birds. I would think thank that all birds are pretty much the same when it comes to egg laying. Hope this was of some help!

Thanks!
Dean
