Hi, I'm a newbie here, but I've been active on other cf boards. I'd like to start with a rant. This actually happened last week. I was standing in the train at peak hour, going back home, reading a magazine and listening to my music, when a stupid cow came in the metro with her she-brat of about 4-5. A man left her his seat, so the moo sits and takes her kid (I already figured out it was a helion, as it would not stop moving as if it had worms up its [censored]) on her knees. The brat then proceeded to grab everything she could. A man's book, my bag, you name it. I gave her the stare of death and continued reading. Then the kid kicked my leg. Another stare of death <img src="/images/graemlins/devil.gif" alt="" />. The woman interrupts my music listening and says "It's only a kid, this is what kids do, and if you don't like it move away". I was there first. I told her her brat kicked me, then continued reading. Another kick. I look up. The woman smiles at me and says she herself kicked me. What was I going to do. I asked why dirty my clothes? Was she going to pay, because obviously she seemed on welfare. She said send me the bill with a smirk. I just told her to teach her brat manners and that she was a [censored]. Then people got off at a station, leaving more room for me. I moved 2 feet away, and continued to read and mind my own business. I hate people. I hate breeders and this [censored] only reinforced my will to be cf. She's a great advertisement for birth control and tubal ligation! I mean WTF? I don't bug anyone in the train, don't bug me. It's painful enough as it is riding with morons who talk loud, push you and chew gum loudly, slam door in my face. There's no need to add more. I want to move on a distant property with trees and a lake. No brats allowed there.

Thanks for reading!

That woman clearly has no manners and it is sad that she is passing her ignorance along to a child.
When you are riding public transit there are still personal space rules that people are supposed to abide by. What a cow.
I used to ride the GO train in Toronto every day, and if I got on a car and there were small children on there, I would move to the next car. I just did not want to deal with the noise and behaviour.

Unfortunately, there are thousands of people out there bringing up unmannered kids. That means that if you DO have children and bring your child up to be well mannered and a productive citizen, your child has to put up with the hoards of mean, unmannered, ignorant children. Honestly, that just seems cruel to me - to bring a human being into this world that is going to the dogs/pigs.

The percentage of parents who are raising well mannered children is just sooooo small these days, and declining. It seems like the bad parents have 4 - 6 children each, and the good parents have only 1 or 2. The scales are tipping quickly.

Sorry you had such a rough commute!

I agree! My favorite hobby is at the mall when crumbsnatchers run by, drop something in front of them or stick out a foot. Never fails to bring a smile to my face.

LOL, i have actually done that; dropping something in front of a kid running in the library where i work! Bad parents bug me so much...
I used to work in a much bigger library. We always got a lot of mothers and toddlers 'visiting'. Several times when i was on the desk, kids would run out the front door onto the busy street. The parents would be totally oblivious to this, and five minutes later run around the place shouting for the child. Meanwhile the kid is playing in traffic....
I always pretended i hadn't seen the kid; it was always the same few idiot-moms it happened to.
I feel bad for the kids of these parents, but do they have any chance of turning into productive adults after having such lame parents?
I am a product of BNP, and even though 3 out of 4 of us turned out okay, 3 out of 4 of us are also childfree.....
I would go crazy if that incident on the train happened to me. Well done to the poster for controlling herself and not decking the mother (or her yucky offspring!).

I'm a mom, but I have a parent rant. Hope you forgive the intrusion.

Somewhere I've seen a post here supporting licensing for parents. Sure, it sounds Hitlerish (as does sterilization), but their comes a point where sane people (even other parents) might say "Ya know, that's not such a bad idea."

My DH's black-sheep sister, who has had multitudinous problems since her teen years, worked her way through 3 official husbands and 2 common law husbands, had gone to jail for child endangerment (her children had alcohol and cocaine in their system). **Note: No amount of intervention ever worked for her, she had/has major issues. And even though CPS would step in and take the kids periodically, they kept giving them back (some sort of "family reunification" rule nonsense).

So, we get a letter yesterday from an aunt, letting us know that said sister had married again and had just given birth to her 5th child.

I'm thinking maybe sterilization should have been a condition of her parole....

It definitely upholds the idea that some people should not be permitted to have children.

Wasn't there a case not too long ago (I'm in OH) where the condition of a guy's sentencing included NOT fathering any more children? He had fathered like 7 or 10 or something. I don't remember what he was arrested for - I'm sure deadbeat parent was part of it. But I don't know if they actually required him to be snipped.

Two solutions: A, say loudly to the woman "so you admit you just physically assaulted me?" and B. say "okay, what's your name and address?" and actually send her a drycleaning bill. From the most expensive place in town (though I'm sure she wouldn't actually pay, and wouldn't even give you her *real* name or address, but you could always ask to see her driver's license to verify...if nothing else it would freak her out).
