watergardens.bellaonline.comIn my water gardening article of Sunday, I talk about routine pond and water garden maintenance. Since I am in zone 9, I miss things that northern gardeners must do. Can you add anything that our northern neighbors need to know?

Clean your prefilter on your pump once monthly. Your pump will last longer.

Remove dead or dying leaves from plants at least monthly. Do not let them decompose in the pond.

Check your hose connections or hose clamps. They can weaken and leak. Replace when necessary.

To find a leak, check your waterfall first. Chances are a rock has shifted.
