Or...

Because he was already "stuffed".

Why did the teddy bear turn down dinner?

Because he was all tied up in stitches!

I'm sorry, Lin. I don't get it. One, the teddy bear isn't all tied up in stiches, is it? I mean, they have stitching, but they are not all tied up in it. Two, if a teddy bear could eat, why wouldn't it eat whether it was tied up in stitching or not?

As a punchline "Because he was all tied up in stitches" is akin to:

Why did the teddy bear turn down dinner?

Because it is an inorganic toy with no need to eat.

Because its mouth is just a piece of red yarn.

Because it doesn't like veal. (Alright, not this one)

Now, "already stuffed" is a satisfactory punchline because it is true, and "stuffed" is also used to mean having had enough to eat, so it is a mildly clever and mildly funny answer to the riddle.

Oh, what I mean't is that since he is all stitched up, he can't move much. Some teddy bears have stitches all over them too as objects are added on to them. He would not have room to eat. Just a joke. Sorry you did not like it!

I know this is from a while back, but I just read this and had to say something.

Man, I think you are seriously looking into the wrong forum. It was meant as a joke. If you don't like it, go look at another post. If you do, I'm glad. I'm not trying to be rude, but you really need to get a sense of humor and stop being so technical about everything.

I hate it when someone doesnt get a simple little joke and you have to explain it... it takes all the fun out of it ;( happens to me all the time, I think probably just because Im awful at trying to get it out without screwing it up then I have to start over then it doenst make sense and I have to explain it and by that point it's just not funny anymore lol
