Hey guys!! So my purpie is acting weird yet again...he's started to lay sideways on his cave(kind of lowering himself on it) but once he hits he darts off...like hessaying ouch that hurt!!! scratching maybe? I yell at him when he does it(i know that wont help lol) but I'm not sure what else to do...I'm currently treating the water with aquarium salt and stress coat...and i recently stopped using melafix. I think he was doing it whail he was on the melafix too. Any thoughts? I also have some QuICK if that should help at all...

uhoh...sounds like a parasite. what he's doing is called darting or flashing. Sounds like it's external, (they itch, so he *is* scratching).

My poor fish!! He dosent look any differant that he always has...but I'm starting him on QuICK(Formalin, and malachite green) and melafix. There seems to be hairball like stuff in his water now...even right after i change it. Could that be anything? I feel so bad my grandmother was jst trying to get me a purple fish bt she ended up getting me a fairly sick one. He's getting over finrot i donno...

Some fish do tend to be sickly. just give him the best care you can. hairball like stuff....hmmm
possibly dust if his tank or bowl is uncovered? i know my gabby's tank gets stringy stuff in it when i need to change her water (like right now). But it goes away after a change. Im not sure what it could be...maybe someone else can help...
