Hi there,

I have purchased a Screw Nose ring.. at least I think this is what it's called (sort of has an s shape to it) Anyhow I can't for the life of me get it in... I can start to get it in but i can't feel it on the inside of my nose. Is there a certain technique to this or is it just a real pain in the behind to get it in? It sorta looks like this but it has a little diamond on the end of it.

It's white gold and I purchased it at the Mappins Jewelry store at our local mall. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

I don't have a nose piercing, so I can't comment from experience, but many body piercings that aren't really ready for new jewelry can collapse when you take the original jewelry out, meaning the passageway of the piercing closes down partially or totally.

I've had that issue with ear piercings. The main thing is to not force the piercing or try to hard to put in new jewelry, as this can lead to trauma to the skin, and scar tissue forming.

If new jewelry doesn't want to go into a piercing, put the old jewelry back in, and try again in a few weeks. Also, if the new jewelry is thicker than the old, you may not get it into the piercing without a professional stretching the piercing for you.

I have one and you have to kind of starting screwing and it should go in your nose at an angle. If u can't do it just take it to the place that did you piercing and they will gladly put it in for u. I know I have had to do that.

Unfortunately I cannot go back to where I got it done because I got it done by the owner of the jewelry store and they are Not allowed to do nose peircings or the tops of the ears. Only the ear loebs. The owner is my friends aunt (I'm 31 by the way) so we bought the piercing earings at the Jewelry store and she took the gun out of the store and did them ant her home. So this is not a place that does facial peircings at all.

I think u should still be able to go to any peircing place that does body peircings and they will usually do it. That is one of the hardest things to get back in. I had to flu once and blew my nose and it came out at an angle and I tried for hours to get it in. No success so I had to go and ask them to get in it. Since it is not a first peircing they will do it. Just ask.

Part of why I recommend that people who get pierced do so by folks with proper training is so that you can get help with situations like this.

Also, since ear piercing guns can't be sterilized properly between piercings, I also recommend that people avoid them as they can easily spread hepatitis and other blood-born diseases.

[color:"purple"] You probably would do better with a nose bone or fishtail. Go to my site at http://me2cali.ecrater.com and look at my FAQ. I have all sorts of info that would be of help to you. Nose bones are my personal pref. I couldn't get the screw in for the life of me & forget about a pre-bent fishtail also. I need something nice & straight that's easy to push thru.
Also, do you wet it at all? That helped a lot in the beginning when I was changing my peircings. I personally pref H2Ocean. It's awesome! I wet the nose ring in my hand with the spray & then wet the outside & inside of my nose. It gives it a little lube! I've used plain water when I was in a bind.
Good luck! [color:"purple"]

BTW, if this piercing is less than 3 months old, you probably shouldn't be trying to change the jewelry, as they take at least that long to heal.

I've heard too many horror stories of peoples' piercings growing too small and the little ball on the end of a nose bone not coming back out...fine if you either want a lot of pain or to have to cut the jewelry out or both, but I always recommend to people not to use nose bones.
