Hi all
Does anyone here do hairpin lace? I ordered and have received my book on how to learn but I live in a small town and have only one place that carries knitting and crochet supplies and they do not have the hairpin loom. I've also searched online but the sites I have found seem to be to high especially with shipping and handling. So does anyone here know where I can find some cheaper? I've looked at JoAnn's and Annie's Attic to name a few but would like to check out other sites as well.

Thanks
Barbara

Try eBay and also Herrschners. Herrschners has free shipping with $25 order until the end of September.

Hi !
It's been a while since I've been around & wanted to say "hi" to all.

Just today I received an email on how to make your own hair pin lace loom!

Here's the link.

Hi Barbara, My Tip >> ENJOY !

Hey , I have made a few out of Wire Hangers.
You can sand the ends so they are rounded and not sharp.
Make a few different width sizes.

Since I only wanted to do a little Bit of Hair Pin Lace,
I didn't have to invest in more needles.

At lacis they carry hairpin lace forks in various prices. They even have the double hairpin fork. I want that one sometime. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

You can make one out of wire, dowels, and even old solid plastic straws (you know the kind that come in the cups you buy with drinks that are stiff rubbery like).

My smallest is so tiny, and the biggest I have was something someone made. It is huge, it is a steel piece bent into shape with a wood base drilled with holes in it. It is quite heavy.
