I always enjoy meeting people who understand the *need* for chocolate. It leaves me so much less to have to explain.

My usual sweet tooth has actually been laying low this week, so I've mostly just been nibbling some extra-dark. That's the wonderful thing about chocolate -- it's there for you, whatever your mood may be.

Well,

My parents know a couple who own a chocolate factory in Northern California, and they add some chili peppers to some of their dark chocolate candies.

On the other hand, my ex-client hasn't done this yet, at least not that i'm aware of. They have about 70 different recipes for chocolate covered apricots, Aspen Mint Almonds, & create unique recipes for their wholesale customers. I'll have to ask them about that.

Sorry to be so long in getting back to you. That's so funny -- I just got sent some samples from a company in New Mexico, and some of the stuff was chocolate flavored with red and green chili peppers!

The peanut butter and red pepper was actually pretty good; but some of the stuff with green chili was just too strong. It overwhelmed the taste of the chocolate. I reality-checked with some spicy-food loving friends, and they agreed.

It's amazing the things they're coming up with, isn't it?
