I am SO so happy, I finally found those Centrum chewable adult multivitamins at my local Target. They're yummy! They're chewable! I can take them every day! So now I have a chewable multivitamin, a chewable C vitamin to go with it, a caramel chewable calcium and also a chocolate chewable multivitamin (less quality than Centrum) as a backup. Hurrah!
Have you guys tried the chewables? Or do you do ok with swallowing the normal ones?

Lynn - good for you! I used to be able to do that, but for some reason I am very mucousy now and vitamins stick in my throat. I suppose I should figure out why at some point. Maybe it's just allergies. It's definitely annoying!

I'm excited to hear that there are chewables now, I HATE taking my multi vitamin, it is too big of a pill. Sometimes I chicken out and don't even take it...... I just started taking a vitamin everyday a few weeks ago. So far I can't really tell what it is really doing. Are there suppossed to be any noticable results from taking them?

Multi-vitamins are full of ALL sorts of important nutrients for your body - vitamin A, vitamin E, vitamin C, etc. etc. etc. Each of these is very important to your body's health and the US RDA is the mere minimum your body needs to be healthy. So if you weren't taking vitamins before, then your skin wasn't getting enough E to be as wrinkle-free as it should be, your eyes weren't getting enough vitamin A to see as clearly as they could, the list goes on. So your entire body is now starting to be "the way it should be" at least on a most basic level.
It's not like your skin will turn from yellow to pink (unless you had some incredible deficiency before from eating only cheetoes all day). However, your whole body will all start being the way it *should* be - healthy, more alert, more able to fight off colds, sharper eyesight, stronger hair, etc.

I think the only time I reverted to chewables was during the first few months of pregnancy with both kids. The prenatals would NOT stay down for any reason. Flintstones Complete--dye and all--saved the day!

Snuggie - I wrote an article for you on multivitamins http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art35771.aspLynn - it's definitely true, getting even cheap vitamins into you is better than no vitamins at all!!

I used to need only chewables, but one day I taught myself to swallow pills. I never could as a kid but one day in my late 20s I got sick of being afraid and made myself learn.
It sounds like you have a completely different situation but I though i'd share my little story.

I definitely agree with you! The more you can overcome the small things that hold you back, the better long term. If you hate cheese, and train yourself to at least tolerate cheese, then if you're stuck in a situation where there are only cheese items around to eat, now you won't starve. There are so many similar situations that can apply.
What I really need to do is talk to my doctor about my mucus problem and get it solved. That way it's not an issue for me going forward. I'll put it on my list for my next visit

When I was a kid, I heard about scurvy and made myself learn to like orange juice. Then I decided to start liking veggies. I was like that as a kid. no one could make me do anything, but I made myself do all kinds of stuff to better myself on my own.
I guess i can learn to make myself like Sushi....just what I need, an expensive new habit.....
