Hello Everyone!

My latest article for Budget Decor has to do with wall decorating. I've described some fun ideas for your walls that are not costly at all. Suggestions like writing poems on your wall, painting or pasting a mural, or even displaying cherished articles of clothing. I'd love to read about ways you have decorated your walls. Please feel free to share here.

Happy Decorating!

Love the idea of wall murals! The website www.decorplace.com has lots of full wall murals for under $100!

Thanks for sharing, MuralGirl! That's an interesting site. Really sparks the imagination of all the possibilities when you see a variety of choices.

You can also find murals very inexpensively at home department stores. We pre-ordered one for under $40 at Lowes over six years ago for my son's room. The picture was the Columbia Space Shuttle which has even more importance to him since it was the first one ever launched and now is no longer around. It came in 3 strips and we had it up in one afternoon. He's 17 and still loves it today.

I like to put my wall borders about 24" down from the ceiling with a different complimentary color above the border and one below. It is much easier to find wall decor because the walls are already partially decorated.

I also have taken leftover pieces of print fabric and put them in dollar store frames. Such as a leaf print that I used for curtains, I cut out three different types of the leaves from the print and put them in the frames. Not only was it inexpensive but it tied the room together.

Thanks for sharing your ideas, Chloe! I love your use of fabric in frames. It is very simple, yet extremely decorative and versatile...and cheap!

Hey, just an update. I bought a piece of table cloth them, and I got a 10% off discount code from them for my next purchase. The code is "RCDIS" without the "" if anyone wants to use it. (for orders over 40 dollars)

I have a small apartment and when we first moved in, a small budget as well. My apartment leans more to a contemorary modern feeling style. I was stumped for something eye catching over the couch in the living room area. I ended up buying some reasonably pirces custom framed mirrors, 6 total in 8-1/2 x 11 to start and then printed out some copies of my favorite artist's work also in 8 1/2 x 11 on my home computer on photo paper. I bought some inexpensive frames online and staggered the pictures and mirrors on the wall. I wasn't quite sure how it would look, but it turned out much better than expected. I added a picture, hope that is ok, if not please let me know and I will delete it. [imageBellaOnline ALERT: Raw URLs are not allowed in these forums for security reasons. Please use UBB code.
