Chicken Stew - This reciepe originated more than 2 quarters of a century ago in my family with basically 1 chicken, corn, and tomato's. It has grown and grown since then, but I just thought I would little of the heritage here.
Chicken Stew:
1 Chicken - Boil in water (remove chicken, let cool slightly, peel chicken from bone and return to pot)
3 cans corn -add all juice
2 cans pea's - Drain slightly
potato's (if you wish: boiled and cut)
2 cans Kidney beans - drained (Don't have to use beans)
2 cans grean beans (or the real thing! Drain juice.)
About a 1/4 cup of ketchup ( or more)
a little sugar for sweetness
After the chicken is peeled and placed back in, add the vegtables. All the corn juice, and little to none of the others (but I add some of the pea juice). Soup is done almost instantly after chicken and vegtables are placed in pan. Add salt/pepper to desire. This stuff is delicious!
Like Paula (On TV) I add butter to my personal bowl cuz I love it! Hee Hee. As you can see, you can add and remove the vegtables at your own heart desire.
To make it a "No Fat" meal, put the chicken broth in freeze for 1 hour and remove the grease that has harded on top of the broth, or just add ice to speed to occurance and do the same. Now, you removed all the fat, and none of the flavor. Hope you enjoy!!! <img src="/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />
