ovarian remnant syndrome

I am not sure how many of you are familiar with this and as a matter of fact I had never heard about it until it happened to me. I had my uterus and cervix removed in 1994, my left ovary removed in 1997 (due to scar tissue and adhesions it had "embedded" in my bowel), my right ovary in 2003 because it had a 6 inch cyst attached to it.

On Sept. 5th I had surgery to remove the remnant and also to clean up my massive adhesions. Due to the massive, dense adhesions they are not able to do my surgeries laparoscopically because they are so dense that they cannot get through them.

The "remnant" was attached to my pelvic wall and I use the quotes around remnant because after surgery my doctor said that it did not look anything like an ovary and it was sent to the pathologist.

Just wanted to add this to the forum for education purposes.
