What do you think the problems with kids today is? My thoughts are:

1. With both parents usually working full time to make ends meet in todays expensive society, they end up feeling so guilty for not spending time with their kids that they hold back on proper discipline so that their kids will "like them".

2. Childhood obesity is at an all time high. If your kid is screaming, do NOT give him a cookie to calm him down! My 5 year old nephew weighs about 85 lbs, and already has high blood pressure and is at risk for Type II Diabetes!!!

It seemed like a good idea at the time.

[color:"orange"] You hit the nail right on the head!!!! Lost of kids are not getting the appropriate attention nowadays.

If motherhood doesn't interest you, don't do it. It didn't interest me, so I didn't do it. Anyway, I would have made a terrible parent. The first time my child didn't do what I wanted, I'd kill him."

The problem with kids today is their parents. "Gimme" kids have parents who willingly give them everything from day one, without ever setting any kind of rules or guidelines. You reap what you sow.

My nieces and nephews aren't like this. They were taught from day one you have to work for what you have. Everything's trade-off. You want a game station? You work hard, study hard, make good grades and keep your nose clean. You want money (the "allowance" entitlement idea is verbotten in my family), you perform some work that is beyond what is usually expected of you. They're well behaved and know the value of work.

They're still a little strange though... especially the teenagers. That, I think, just goes with the territory. Their psyches are still forming--totally terrifying!

Its sad really...Kids want want want and the parents give it all to them. The thing is we live in a society that makes ud think we must have it all.

Kids have to have the best clothes labels the coolest shoes e.t.c....It is a vicious circle and the parents just end up beccoming slaves to a consurmeristic society and brainwashed by clever advertising.

I can see straight through it and I am soooo glad this will never be me.

[color:"orange"] Amen to that! Sediments exactly!!!!

The problem with kids is the fact that they are kids.
