Eva's child's poncho pattern is so fun and quick to make that I have made 3 in 4 days! I used Simply Soft and with the cooler Fall mornings, it will be just like wearing a little blanket. 2 of my little ones that I crochet for are a size 5/6 so I made a chain of 68 and instead of doing 4 (3dc groups) to start, I did 3 and it worked out great!

GReat, glad to hear it. Someone else (sorry I can't remember who) put fun fur around it, which really is a good idea but I didn't want to take credit for it.

im new to crochet, i live in scotland and nice to find a site which has this type of thing. i am doing the poncho (my first try at crochet) its working really well, my daughter is 2years old so i have used a smaller hook, a 3mm. its looking good, but not sure how many rows and whats the front and shoulders lol

Hi Linda,
When I made them for my nieces (they are out of state) I just asked their mother to measure them from about their collar bone to wrist or however long they wanted it. I just love that pattern. I finished another one this morning and plan to start another one tonight. I did a simple border at the bottom because they have kitties (so do I) and I could just see the kittes with the fringe!
