Today was the deadline for 3rd quarter estimated tax deposits.
If you are self employed these dates are especially relevant for you as you are responsible for covering all your self employment tax (as opposed to having 1/2 FICA withheld from a paycheck and the employer paying the other 1/2).
Self employment tax is due on net earnings from self employment regardless of whether or not you owe federal income tax.
The 4th and final depositing date for 2006 will be on January 15, 2007.
