Sorry about this folks, there is quite a lot of detail so it may seem a bit long winded. I had this dream about 2 years ago now, however, it is still firmly imprinted in my mind.

My previous home was a converted flat in a Georgian style building. The entrance was from the road, up a short flight of steps (7 or 8) via a green gate. There was a private garage below our flat and another flat above ours.

My dream started with me walking along the road where I lived (we have since moved) and I was carrying several bags of shopping as I had been to the supermarket. The day was overcast and dreary. As I was walking up the road I saw a woman. She was dressed in dirty clothes and she looked like a tramp/hobo. In fact she was high on something and she had a syringe in her hand.

As I walked towards the gate to my house she started walking towards me and was gesticulating and swearing at me. My hands were full with the bags of shopping. She approached me and was threatening to stab me with the syringe if I didnt give her a 5 note which she knew I had. She raised her arm to stab me, but then she vanished and I was stood before the door to my house. I opened it and walked inside.

I saw that my dad was in there, on his own. I was about to walk over to him when I heard a small knocking against the front door. Puzzled by this I went to the door and opened it. A small blue bunny rabbit toy, one of those childrens ones which move and flip over, was butting against the door. For some strange reason I felt very frightened and immediately stepped back inside. As odd as it sounds, I took it to be a bad omen.

My dad asked me what was wrong and I looked out of the window. I saw leaves whipping past and had a strange sensation that something was coming. I remember saying to my dad that we had to get out of the sitting room and move back into the bathroom because we would be safe there. My dad disagreed with me and said no, Im going in the kitchen. I was beside myself with worry. I tried to stop him but he closed the door behind him and as he did so I became aware of something hovering outside the window to my flat.

When I turned to look it was a bodiless head and it was that of the Devil. It was just hovering there and looking in. The head was huge, maybe 5 or 6 metres across. The lips were yellow and it had black eyes. A really terrifying image for a dream.

I hammered on the door and screamed to my dad, eventually he opened it and the first thing he saw was this Devil face. I was telling him that he had to say the Lords Prayer to make it go away.

My dad was in a trance like state and was staring at the Devil. I was desperately trying to get him to recite the Lords Prayer with me. I was saying a sentence and then getting my dad to repeat it. I remember that in the dream I had hold of his arm and was shaking him to get him to look at me and repeat what I had said. I managed to get him to repeat the first two lines after me and then I couldnt remember the next line. I was panicking and while this was happening the Devils face was getting bigger and all of the windows and doors were starting to smash in. I remember holding onto my dad and trying to stop him from being hurt.

Eventually I remembered the next line to the prayer and I was screaming it out into the wailing wind that was blowing through my house. My dad and I finished the prayer and I remember sinking down onto the floor feeling completely exhausted. I remember my dad then looking at me like I some kind of freak. The flat was in a mess but the Devil had gone.

Wow- you dream in scary detail! The blue bunny is sinister Very Stephen King in style- do you read horror fiction or watch horror films? You may be inspiring your subconscious movie maker!

I wonder if there is a theme here about perceived threats not being real? The drug crazed woman just vanished & so did the devil (after giving you a big scare). Perhaps there are things in everyday life that scare you, but once you face up to them really weren't worth the worry?

It was a very scary dream, I can still remember it in vivid detail and it was well over 2 years ago I dreamt it.

After reading your suggestion, I think that it's very true. About facing up to perceived threats and dealing with them, then finding out they weren't so bad after all.

Funnily, a couple of years ago I joined a Ladies Barbershop group and began singing with them. I'd never done anything like that before, and I found over the year that my confidence grew and grew. So much so that I am completely different now in terms of confidence. I'm not afraid to go and chat to people, I'm not afraid to offer my opinion or whatever. More recently, I signed up with an Amateur Dramatics group, which I would never have done before, becuase I would have been too scared.

So I guess that the dream was a way of telling me to not be afraid.

Thank you
