I didn't hold up well seeing previews of movies in our local theater. I watched some tv coverage last month, thinking there was film or video that was not broadcast in 2001. I believed I would recognize every scene that was shown on tv from those first few days.
One of my closest friends sent me the book _Ambulance Girl_ a few years ago. I was surprised when I read the author's response to the attack - it was so close to a strong feeling I had that day, although I had no training or affiliation as a 'first responder.'
Something else I remember about that day, and the weeks that followed, is feeling protective of the people in Oklahoma City, thinking that they must need some extra comfort, and that they would give some, too.
