Hi every one. Married with no kids for nearly seven years and very happy with the current status. Maybe someday...but definitely not yet.

Greetings, sailer, and welcome to the club. I'm 22, married for two years and childfree by choice for keeps. Of all the childfree forums around, I'm pretty sure this one is the nicest <img src="/images/graemlins/kiss.gif" alt="" />. So... make yourself comfy and stay a while.

Welcome Sailer. Next week is our 12th anniversary. We never officially decided to be CF, it just sort of happened. Just never felt compelled to have kids. DH is also younger, so we probably thought there would always be time for that later. When I got close to 40, I had a little meltdown but soon realized that I just never had a strong maternal urge (toward kids, animals are another story), so it's all okay. Now that I'm a little past 40, I'm happy I didn't give in to that panic. I have a dear friend, same age, who is preg. and due any minute. More power to her, but I can't even imagine having the energy to start having kids now.

Hey sailer, and welcome!
I'm married 9 years next week, and very happily childfree for keeps. I have never really had a desire to have kids, but thought i might 'someday'. Well, it never happened, i never got the yen for kids. My husband and i have a lovely god-daughter who we both adore, and enjoy spoiling. It's so nice to be able to hand her back!
This is such a great forum, with a huge variety of childfree folk. And it's totally non-judgemental, so you can express what you're really feeling without worrying about offending anyone. Looking forward to reading your posts!

Welcome Sailor! This is a great website. It's been a real blessing for me. Everyone here has been really great!

I'm 33, have been married over two years and have decided to be childfree. I've just never had the huge urge to have kids, and I as get older, I realize how much better life is without them!

[color:"orange"] I'm coming up on 1 year marriage here in October. Yey! I have a condition called Endometriosis and a retroverted uterus besides the fact that I don't ovulate. So it makes getting pregnant almost impossible. I thought and contemplated getting "help" but I'm almost more certain of not doing so. Right now Im just more than overjoyed being on the pill, as it helps alleviate the pain tremendously. My dh and I are enjoying our freedom, as our childed counterparts have lost once their so called, bundles of joy entered the world. Some good responses to a childfree question I had:

There are some really good responses there.
I hope this helps for anyone that is contemplating as to whether or not have children. Good luck. [/color]

If motherhood doesn't interest you, don't do it. It didn't interest me, so I didn't do it. Anyway, I would have made a terrible parent. The first time my child didn't do what I wanted, I'd kill him."
