I tend to fluctuate within 10 pounds of my desired weight, depending on what I'm eating for the given week. For example, 10 days straight of potato pancakes

OK it seems that most of our visitors are aiming to lose a substantial amount of weight. I'll start a new thread on that!

Right now I'm about 5 pounds up from where I want to be.

Well, since my surgery on Jan 26th I'm down 72 lbs.

I'm hoping to lose about another 40-50 (maybe even a little more if I really get my b-u-t-t in gear and start some hard-core training, HA!)

That's what I used to look like, and my avatar picture was taken just about a month or so ago - so a little bit of difference.

Wow, 72 pounds, that is really impressive!! That is so wonderful! I would think if you want to lose another 50 that we could help you do it, that it shouldn't involve *too* nasty an exercise schedule

That's great!!!

I have PCOS and have gone from being a skinny minny to 180 pounds. I'm 5'9" and about size 16 jeans. For years I was tiny--size 8/10. I really want to get back to 130 pounds.

I have two children. My youngest is still nursing which means I can't really cut my calories. I used to be on meds for the PCOS and it helped a lot. I've been trying to lose the weight naturally but it's a medical condition that makes losing weight almost impossible without meds.

I hate to go back on drugs but I'm thinking I'm going to see my endocrinologist again soon.

Always talk to your doctor of course - but a key is not to cut calories, but to cut out sugars. That does end up cutting out calories but in a really healthy way. So don't diet - but try to eat things that are really nutrition-full, like whole grains and fresh veggies. That can really make a big difference.

honestly I never ever really weigh myself before & after cos I hate to see a number on the scale .

But I think since last July , I roughly lost about 20kg ++ or so ?

I'm 1.75m so it does show whether I lose weight or not cos I'm tall.

That's great to hear! I know it can be troubling to see a weight, but it's always better to know than to not know. If you know, you can take action. If you see the number creeping up, then you know to do something about it. If you see the number is stationary or going down, then that's a good morale boost!
