Hi fellow Byetta user!

Amazing new medicine is working well for weight loss but I'm getting a strange side effect that hasn't been mentioned on any site. Terrible stomach pain after eating after the shot. Anybody else out there who has had this haqppen? Two times it was relieved after throwing up and once it took 18 hours to go away only after a mug of mint tea! Hoping to hear from anyone who has experienced anything like this. Would like to continue the Byetta.

[color:"purple"] Yes i believe thats the ubiquitous tummy problem some have. The site [url=BellaOnline ALERT: For anti-spam reasons, we restrict the number of URLs allowed in a given post. You have exceeded our maximum number of URLs.

I was on Byetta for approximately two years and had great results in the beginning. I too experienced tremendous stomach problems in the beginning yet they subsided with time. I must report, however, that after a couple of years this regimen lost all effectiveness and I am now on straight insulin and have been re-diagnosed as being type-1. This is rare according to my physician yet she explained that Byetta is only a temporary fix. Now I take 4 shots every day and have finally regained control. Best regards, Eddie

I had horrible side effects with Byetta. I tried it for 2 months. I was in ER every other day and it took 6 months after I quit it to finally feel like I was back to normal. (I do not do well with the meds made from venom. I also had a reaction to my ACE drug for high BP and had to stop because it was also made fom venom.) But on the Byetta--I coud not lift my arms for 6 months for the muscle pain and weakness and I got a sinus infection so bad that I lost my sense of smell and taste for 6 months too--it was horrible! A strawberry tasted like sulfur! I was throwing up violently and the ab pain was excruciating. The shots would hurt so badly even tho I used a tiny needle in the pen and I would get a nasty bruise around the injection site (upper arm and stomach). And it did not lower my glucose levels.

I had hoped for much from it, but what I got was the better part of a lost year.
