I think it's important, to rid the skin of dead skin. It also opens up the pores on the scalp, which is good.
I use a natural body scrub.
1 Tablespoon of honey (the best humectant in the world)
1 Tablespoon of Lemon Juice
1 Tablespoon of Virgin Olive OIl
1/2 cup of granulated white sugar
Heat the liquid ingredients right before bathing. Add the sugar after heating. I use a wooden brush (hand portion comes off the handle) with medium soft bristles to apply it with. I do not use the brush on my breasts. You'll find you don't need body lotion afterward.
For my hair:
2 Heaping Tablespoons of brown sugar mixed with 2 Tablespoons of shampoo or conditioner. Scrub the scalp gently, not rough. Then I apply a vinegar rinse (apple cider for dark hair, white vinegar for blondes), 2 tablespoons of vinegar in 12 ounces of water. Rinse well and then rinse with cool/cold water, to help calm the cuticle, promote shine and makes the hair feel silky. The vinegar will also correct the ph balance of your scalp.
I only do the scrub about once every two months. You can do the vinegar rinse every time you shampoo.
A good deep treat for hair:
2 parts silicone free conditioner (VO5 works good for this)
1 part honey
1 part clear aloe vera gel (you can find the Fruit of the Earth brand at walmart in the lotion dept)
Heat the honey and aloe for about 10 seconds then add the condtioner and apply to freshly washed wet hair. Plastic hair cap for about 30 minutes. I have slept in this before. Rinse well with warm water, followed by cool/cold rinse. If you notice any white flecks after rinsing, don't be alarmed. it's just the conditioner and it will absorb right into your hair. Will not leave the hair lank or dull looking.
This can also be used after every shampoo, it's safe.
