Yes, ladies, there is a "spring" procedure for men. It's called the Vasclip. It's not exactly like Essure for women, but the principal is the same. Create scar tissue to close off the tube. It's theoretically not "as invasive"; but, like Essure, there's the possibility that the tube won't be completely blocked by scar tissue.

If your DH/SO is interested in finding a doctor that does this kind of procedure, you can find a list on the Vasclip website at www.vasclip.com.

My SO did not have this procedure. He had the regular vasectomy. WOrked out just fine.

It's a clamp that pinches the vas deferens, not a spring which is inserted - completely different procedure. I don't understand your subliminal sarcasm.

There wasn't any sarcasm intended, fire. Simply a statement. And the neruologist that explained it to us did compare it to Essure as they're both intended to create a buildup of scar tissue. And the hinge is springloaded to make it more secure.

I see...I can understand how your neurologist would explain it to you in that manner. As a medic, I do tend to speak and think in professional, very specific terms, although I try to remember to speak in laymens language. Sometimes I have to be reminded. My apologies for being too technical and assuming sarcasm.
