Hi Emmie,

I found this article which might be useful to you:

Thyroid Function Tests

It describes the tests, gives the normal ranges, and talks about what could cause abnormal results.

Thought you might want to take a glance at it.

The only test that is any value is the FREE T4, and with out the range it is only a number.

The Free T4 should be at or above 70% to have a shot at feeling good. You also need the have the FREE T3 tested, and it should be 80% to 110% Yes 100and 10% of range. The ranges are slanted toward hypo.

Having been this under medicated and / or improperly medicated for so long, your adrenals are probably in dire condition as well. You need a Dr that will treat both thyroid and adrenals. Probably will have to find an Osteopath or a nthrothoipic (not sure of spelling) Look for "DO or ND".

Also read over http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/index.html. There are a lot of answers there.

Sounds like you may be severely under medicated.

as on of the other post said, get the TSH, FREE T3, and FREE T4. With you being a Thyca patient, the TSH should be in the .0x range. The Free T3 should be between 85% and 100% of range. The way to calculate is subtract the bottom of the range from the top of the range, multiply by .85, and add back the bottom of the range. For you this is the minimum you should be. The Free T4 should be 65% of above. The best med for this is desiccated thyroid (Armour).

Also, have a 4 times in 24-hour saliva adrenal test done. If the cortical is low, the thyroid will have a hard time getting into the tissue.

Getting Armour and adrenal test and support will most likely be a hard 'fight'. Most docs have either been conned (via med schools selling out to the drug companies) or the doc has sold out to the drug companies.

They will deny it to the end, but the drug companies do not want your thyroid treated properly. They make more money selling you drugs to treat the symptoms of Hypothyroid.

Looked at the link.

It does not list The Free T3 and Free T4, and the TSH values are the ones from the endo group "controled" by the drug companies.

There are two other endo associations. One says .3 to 3.5, and the other says .2 to 2.0.
