I am so new to this that I'm not even sure I am posting in the right place. I am so very new to Wicca/Paganism, that I sort of feel like I don't know what I'm doing. I suppose that's because I don't.

I guess I'll share with you how I came to be on this path, and you can tell me if I'm in the right place. Sound good?

I've always been able to feel energies from things, but I didn't know what to call it. When I was a child, the best thing I could say is that everything had feelings. I still do largely feel that way.I was raised Christian, but once I reached adulthood, I started to have questions that no one could answer. The final straw, the one thing that finally completely broke me away from Christianity happened in April of this year. After a long battle with cancer, my aunt and friend finally succumbed to it.

A few weeks ago, I went on vacation to visit a friend, and accidently stumbled upon a fairly large waterfall. I stood at the bottom of that waterfall and with the mist spraying into my face. I believe that was when I felt The Charge.

As I left her house, she gave me a necklace with interchangable stones and crystals. Sometimes I can see the energy the stones vibrate with, but mostly, I can feel it.

I've reached a point where I want to learn more, but am not really sure where to turn. There's a lot more going on than what I've posted, but it's late (actually, it's early) and I'm yawning as I type.

Feel free to reply to this (in fact, I beg you to reply) but also stay tuned for Part II.

In your instance I would get my hands on everything you could in regards to what interests you most. Especially seeing as you are on your own (for the most part it seems) in this endeavor. I lucked out and had a boyfriend introduce me to my chosen path and many many valuable mentors. I say to read as much as possible because you'll find many authors with different points of views and beliefs and you'll have to work out what feels right for you. Personally over the years I've gleaned bits and pieces that just work for me, tho it makes it hard to not be able to reference just one book or theory to explain it to anyone...and my current beau is one of those 'prove it to me' types (sigh).
In short, do your homework...sounds like you make want to look into auras and crystals/rocks/gemstones...the latter I know is an area of expertise for the New Age hostess Lauren.
Good luck darling =]

Hi Wendy. Thanks for replying. A lot of why I'm here is because I don't really have anyone to turn to with questions and comments. I know others who follow this path, but no one I would be comfortable asking questions to.

I'm certain that I want to continue my work with the crystals and gemstones, and I'd like to improve my meditation. The biggest problem right now is that something doesn't feel right when I'm working with the stones. It very much feels like something is missing. I somehow feel that if I can improve meditation, my work with th stones will also improve.

I'm currently reading "To Ride A Silver Broomstick" by Silver RavenWolf, but she's really not answering all of my questions...

Do you have any specific questions resulting from "To Ride a Silver Broomstick"?

Well Rose I think you found the right place!!! Just a thought if you feel like something is missing try this medatate, say a prayer then work with your stones!! I think some times we try to out run our up bringing and throw ourselves into something new so maybe by combineding the best of the old with the newly learned will calm your mind and bring peace. I hope that doesnot offend any one...

Well come to the board!!!

Froggie, so far no, I don't have any questions from "TRASB" (Sorry, my typing gets lazy rather quickly sometimes) but I am only a few chapters into it. I will keep you in mind, though, becuase I've no doubt that I probably will at some point.

FreeBubbles, that's where I get confused. What kind of prayer should I say?

Does anyone know of any public Rituals coming up in the Denver area? Possibly even a Drawing down the Moon for the Barley Moon next month?

Thanks

Rose

Just so you know... the Pagan community in Denver is HUGE and fairly open.

There is an open full moon ecery month on the Friday before the full moon at the Unitarian church, there is the Witches Ball coming up in October, there are a plethora of classes including Basics classes and one time workshops. If you want to private message me I can give you some resources.
