Pam ,
Every one that writes a pattern uses their own language in the making of a pattern.
This is a very plain instructed pattern. <img src="/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
So we have to read between the lines and fill in to complete the pattern.
After seeing the Square pattern I read it this way >>
I like to do each step by itself , sooo
Start with 10 ch with color A, join > >>
You now have the lp = LOOP or circle after joining.
1. 11 ch (= tr + 7 ch),
Now this 1st group ( = tr+7ch ) is a tr and the 7 ch >
THEN > (4 tr in lp, 7 ch) 3 times,
make 4 tr and a ch 7 > DO this 3 times into the LOOP .
THEN > 3 tr. >
THEN > join with sl st in first st
{( that is the top of the ch that makes up the 1st tr. )}
Join >> Into the 4th ch of the 11ch you started with.
=>32 tr.
Next row >>
2. 3 sl st, turn square ; Working over tr and over chains, *(sc in next st)10 times, sk 1 st *. Repeat * to * 3 times again; join with sl st in first st, switching to B. =>40 sc.
Pam, I would print this out and make this square. <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
