My doubts all came when I got together with my fiance. He initially wanted children and was shocked by the fact that I did not want them. HE thought that meant I hated kids. Hah, far from it, I actually find little bitty babies quite adorable, as well as well behaved toddlers and kids. But I explained it all out to him. Now he still doesn't like to discuss it - but there's a lot of stuff he doesn't like to discuss, simply because he's so aloof on so many issues that it's not funny. I think his primary reasoning for having a child was having someone to play with and give all his old toys to. I told him, "No kids going to want your old stuff. It won't have the significance to the kid that it has to you. He'll want whatever is coolest then. Yeah years down the road he might cherish yuor old toys but he wouldn't as a kid."
I think a lot of decisions, though, are ones we waver on now and then. Because a decision is such a final thing and we all like to feel like we have SOME choice out of it.

[color:"blue"] Or some [censored] like wanting to dress them up, or play catch with... But the truth and matter is, not all girls like being dressed up, and not all boys are going to want to be into sports. When will people see the light???

I haven't yet, had doubts. Some people see it as selfish or " un-Christian". However, I am going to be an aunt soon and am very very excited ;-)

OMG I have just been to the moms forum - I dont go there that often I just pop in every now and then to see what I am missing and all I can say is i think my tubes just tied themselves...lol.. [color:"blue"] Wow. What a major trainwreck on "kids are driving me crazy!" Haven't these moms ever heard of disciplining their children??? Also the one mom got angry (or upset, rather) that the one mom started that topic. I guess some breeders don't like anyone being honest. Whatever. I say I'll keep my infertility.

I happen to think some people believe it will fill a void in their life or keep them from being alone. And rather than taking a look at their life, they pop out a few kids. Not all people, some actually want to be parents. (YIKES) but, I think that tops the list of selfish.

You know I don't have the patients for children. I have a few neighbors with kids, under 9 years old and I 'll tell you what, it drives me crazy because the kids are all over the streets ( they don't even look before crossing- OMG ) and where are the parents half the time?? I stress out because I am concerned for their welfare, afraid they are going to get hit by a car or something or run off somewhere they have no place being. I know you are going to think I am ridiculous but I get so irritated when they step all over my flower beds. I know I AM terrible but are you with me on this? UGH!!

I don't think you're terrible; I'm in total agreement. Their parents need to be supervising them. This past weekend, I went tubing on the Frio River here in Texas. There were these young kids climbing up off the cliffs and jumping in the river....and there are all these signs at the cliffs, saying don't trespass, don't climb, etc. We were all wondering: where the heck are their parents? The parents probably would try and sue if something happened to one of the kids, despite the fact that there are signs saying DON"T CLIMB AND JUMP!
