I just received mine today and I know it sounds like I am just picking on them but.....8 pages of Annie's Attic advertisements <img src="/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" /> , this is the 2nd issue with all that mess in it. I did call and file a complaint and I myself am a little worried because this issue and the last issue just weren't their normal stuff. I'm very disappointed but I guess that is the risk you take when you buy a subscription. Maybe it will get better with the following issues .

I agree. If not, I won't renew. I'll probably give it one more and if it is the same, I will cancel and ask for a refund of the remaining issues.

Do you think they will give a refund ? I never thought of asking for one.

I don't think you are picking on them. Other crocheters have been complaining about the same things.

Didn't they change editors? Maybe that is part of the problem; nothing against her but maybe taking over a position like that is more difficult that we think.

Are you also getting the requests to re-up your subscription now even though it doesn't end until sometime in 2006? I think that is silly. If we don't like the current issues why would we re-up?

There is something going on at Annie's Attic!

Yes I got that also, what I am afraid of is that the magazine is going to be gone and I will be stuck with something I don't even like. I have heard about other magazines of theirs going under and they don't give refunds just switch them to other magazines.

Yes, I have cancelled subscriptions before and asked for a refund for the cancelled months. I have received the refunds.

Yes I am getting those annoying 'renew subscription now' even though my subscription is good for two years. What a waste of money and paper. If they would stop that practice maybe our rates could be lower. At the very least, save a couple of trees.

Well darn! That isn't very encouraging. I just subscribed to this mag. and got the first issue (which is supposed to be free). Now am having doubts. It did seem to have a lot of ads, and the other poster was correct, it is a new editor, because I got an introductory e-mail from her after sending in for the subscription.

I think all of the magazines have started the annoying practice of "early" renewals. BHG is terrible about this. Most people probably don't pay any attention to their expiration dates and just go ahead and re-up. keeps the cash flowing.

Does anyone have any other magazine recs? I really prefer the "trendier" stuff.

Thanks Eva, I will check out Crochet Fantasy...if I can find it! Hard to find crochet mags at stores I've noticed. Funny you mention interweave press. I just came from another forum where someone had mentioned them and I spent a good little while ooohhh & awwwing at the stuff on their site. Can't knit to save me, but there are some great things there. Good to know they will start including crochet!
