Do a woman like compliments about their looks? Or they makes her feel like a sex object?

I think that women like RESPECTFUL compliments.
Telling a woman that they have beautiful eyes, for instance, is not something that would make me feel like a sex object. Telling me you like my boobs, might.

Exactly. One thing about my ex that I wished was that he would spend more time saying "you're pretty" and less time saying "you're hot" with that certain gleam in his eye. Thinking back I don't think I can remember a time when he said I was attractive without it having to do with sex...and somehow it's just not the same to have someone tell you you're "hot"--when you know full well that he'd probably consider anyone who would have him to be "hot"--as to have them tell you you're genuinely nice-looking, with a feeling of respect.

Nothing is better than Hubby commenting on how I look nice or likes an outfit I wear.

Must add it does not happen often but sure appreciate it when he says it. Don't think I would like it if he said I looked Hot.

Keep looking smart girls............

I have absolutely no problem at all with compliments about my looks and I love being called a "hottie!"

The only time a "compliment" about my looks bothers me is when it's said by some strange guy on the street (or more likely at a club) and it's something sexually explicit...but then it's not really intended to compliment - it's someone trying to mess with you or show off for his friends.

But when some guy walks by me in the grocery store and tells me I'm beautiful...that's a good little moment to tuck away.

Mother always said that even when things seem bad there's someone else who's having a worse day. Like being stung by a bee or getting a splinter or being chained to the wall in someone's sex dungeon.

My ego needs a boost now and then. My husband isn't always one to come up with the right words. I'll be writing about that soon. A little tongue in cheek. However, when I read your message, I smiled, because just this week I went to Walmart and there was an elderly greeter. Yes, he may have been old enough to be my grandfather, but he was so sweet. I was wearing a skirt to try to keep cool and he complimented me on it, saying most women today seem to just wear jeans. I didn't tell him I prefer jeans, too. I accepted the compliment with a few kind words of my own. Thanks for reminding me of that pleasant moment on an unpleasantly hot day.
