I had a wedding date set for october of 2006 but it is now postponed until sometime next year. I think october is a good month (weather-wise) for a wedding but now that the date is moved, I'd like to find out what is another good month (if not better) for a wedding in weather terms (not rainy, plenty of sunshine but not too hot). Any resources I could look at to maybe see if there is a pattern of weather over the years?? I'm in Texas if that helps. The weather here has a mind of its own though. Thanks for any information/advice.

Check a Farmer's Almanac for the past few years, that would give you the best trends for your state.
I know here in Georgia October IS a great month, so is September, and April is pretty good but you have to start worrying about rain then.
I absolutely DETEST the summer months for an outdoor wedding! You have to deal with all sorts of bugs around your food, and mosquitos and allergies for yoursleves, not to mention sweating to death in your beautiful gown!
But it is always a good idea when planning an outdoor wedding to have a backup venue, because Mother Nature is NEVER 100% predicatable! Even if you only have tents set up, that is better than nothing.

So many brides ask this question and since we live in a huge country with diverse climates, I direct them all to Weather channel. They have a wedding weather forecast as well as a weather tracking program for your wedding date: http://www.weather.com/activities/events/weddings/?from=eventsfeatures

Kathy,
The Weather Channel is great if you already have your date picke out - but what about trying to choose your date? Do they have past info for looking up trends?

Oh yes, they do. Just click on the link I gave and see the info under the heading 'Set the Date'. It gives you typical weather conditions for the Zip code you enter. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

In Texas? Something other than July - September, unless you intend to bake in your gown.
For the rest of the year, its a toss-up.

I agree with you Lynn. I went to that link and it was pretty helpful. It made me think about April. Not too much rain and the temps. seem fine. Thanks for all the advice.

My brother and his fiancee are having an outdoor wedding in October (Florida)...we're just hoping that there's no hurricane! Otherwise, I used weather.com to figure out what the weather will be like (since I have to pack appropriately)...warm and lovely, as long as there's not a hurricane. Heh.
I got married in October as well (Ohio), and though it wasn't an outdoor wedding, it was a gorgeous day...mid-60's, sunny, only slightly breezy. Just beautiful. Perfect. And right at the peak time for the leaves too.

I live in Florida. August always seemed to be a good.
Love is the greatest gift in the world so why hide it when you could use it.:)
