1) Well, first and foremost, because seeing the buildup of Randy Orton trying to hit on Brooke Bollea is enough to make anyone sick...Brooke is NOT all that. She looks just like any ordinary girl you would see on the street. Plus, seeing Hogan augment his Medicare pay by stomping all over Randy and making him utterly ineffective is just not worth $50. Truly, Egomania is running wild in old man Terry's head. When your PARENTS remember watching him, he's just NOT COOL anymore (no Carlito jokes). Seeing him talk about being around since 1985 is another turn-off, it paints him as a dinosaur to WW's primary school audience who likely were born when he was hitting his WW peak. People talk smack of Ric Flair not being able to walk away, but what about Ego Hogan?
That's reason #1. Other reasons are welcome. We're sure there are many.

You lot have to pay $50 for a PPV? Blooming heck, and I thought we were being ripped off paying 15 for one!
Do you think viewing figures would increase if they dropped the prices, or even made them free to view? Probably not... I think the problem is there are too many PPV's in a year. We've got one this Sunday and we (more or less) had one last weekend with the Saturday Night Main Event. Also, apart from the Rumble (which didn't even get top billing this year but don't get me going on that one!), there's hardly any special matches to look forward to...
I enjoyed the original King of the Ring knockout rounds with wrestlers having more than one match in an evening. Also, I liked the Survivor Series matches but you don't really see them any more... Also, there's hardly any build-up for matches any more.

15 Pounds? Isn't that roughly $30-35 USD? I wouldn't know about the real price, I haven't thought anything WW has produced in 10 years was worthy of paying for. If I think the [censored] on TV sucks, why am I going to pay for it??
Viewing figures might go up if they were cheaper, but as was mentioned in a different thread, (I think "How Fake Is It?"), when you have to do one a month, that's usually under 3 weeks to build up an effective storyline. That is way too fast to effectively convince someone except the die-hards to part with their $30-40 USD every month. Perhaps bi-monthly would be better, but since PPV is a cash cow (kind of a headache, just becuse of the nature of their business, but a cash cow nonetheless), it's unlikely that WW will give up on it's 12+ a year schedule. Are not their numbers already up to 15/year? It'll probably bump up to 20+ a year if WWECW starts running PPV.
The reason for the change in KOR and SurvSer is that WW felt that they didn't sell as well as a tournament as they would if you hyped an individual draw for the event.

The free TV shows are really just build up for the PPVs as TV doesn't make money. PPVs are what brings in the cash as well as house shows and merchandise.
I pick and choose my PPVs carefully as do many fans. I would of that even with lower prices as, often, not much happens on PPV that we can't get on free TV unless it is a major event.

I do the reverse get the PPVs and catch up with the tv stuff. It means that I don't have to sit through the diva/divasearch/egotrips of certain parties. My kids also view this as a bonus cause they get to watch a bit more wrestling. I used to tape Raw and Smackdown, cut out the rubbish and that left the kids with about 30 to 40 minutes wrestling. Still means I have to watch the PPV to edit that down.
The heart is easy to capture. The soul proves much more elusive.

I have Hours of old WWF Superstars Show from about '87-'92 on VHS, as well as PPV from that time. (all the current stuff i've got on DVD). Anyway, when we finally have kids of our own I'm gonna introduce them to that world of wrestling. Much more toned down for a young mind. I don't think I've got the patience to edit RAW and Smackdown every week. Kudos to you jordy.

Thanks Tikus. I got hooked into wrestling when I was a kid and the little ones have been watching for six years now. I know what you mean wrestling was a very different landscape then but they love the old wrestling shows as much as they love the current WWE even thought they only see about an hour a week. The only problem is when WWE come to Scotland they are desperate to see a live show. Thankfully they sell out pretty quickly so thats my excuse for now.
