my beautiful boy cat, Boris, was found by me at the local shelter two years ago now. He was dumped on the freeway and was very ill and near giving up when he was rescued. anyway, now he is well adjusted and very kind and loving to his new family, but he has newly become a terror to the birds in our yard. we have a fenced in yard and I love to feed the birds. I moved their food and water to the front yard where Boris cannot go. But still he has caught a bird. We put a bell on him, that works slightly, not wholly. The one thing I'll say in reply to the article about "The Danger to Birds: Cats!" is that when Boris catches a poor little bird, he eats EVERY bit of it! Yuck!! Still, I am sick about it, and am looking for help to preserve these precious birds' lives. Any thoughts or advice is quite welcome. Thanks. And I am glad to be newly here in the forum.
