I've been watching this show on WE. On Sunday evenings they have Wild Wedding (something) series on with "Platnium Weddings", "I Do...Let's Eat" and "Bridezillas". I just laugh at those women on "Bridezillas", all that stress and crying. Then on "I Do...Let's Eat" there was a cute couple living in Canada who wanted a wedding that people would REALLY talk about, so they wore red and turned the mom's backyard into a beach with tons of sand. He was orginially from Mexico. They gave out flip-flops to the guest, drank tequila shots, served Mexican food. It looked like a blast. And the bride had ZERO stress. They spent more time thinking about the reception than the ceremony, it was cool. People were walking away like "WOW, that was awesome." I don't think they spent $200,000 either. I want to get invited to a wedding like that.

My wedding was like that - not the Mexican/beach theme - but no stress. I wanted it to be a big party. The only parts of the ceremony I cared about were the walk down the aisle on my dad's arm, cuz I felt like a million bucks in my dress and I wanted to see the look on my husband's face, and the end...."you may kiss the bride." After what I have been told may have been the shortest wedding ceremony ever, we moved on to the party. I kept the guest list short (my husband may have experienced some stress at that point since I put him in charge of reigning his mother in....she wanted to invite everyone she'd ever made eye contact with...all on my parents' dime.) My priorities were good food, an open bar, and a fun DJ. I have been told by many that they'd never had so much fun at a wedding before, and looking back, I wouldn't change a thing.

Mother always said that even when things seem bad there's someone else who's having a worse day. Like being stung by a bee or getting a splinter or being chained to the wall in someone's sex dungeon.

they are making a gay version of the bridezillas, so we can see if same sex couples go crazy over a wedding like everyone else. Maybe there is chemical in wedding cake....
