Hi All....sorry for bringing this topic back to the top of the line again, I haven't been able to visit in awhile due to computer trauma, and now that I am able get around online again, I am seeing all the stuff I missed out on, lol! About hooks: I have definite preferences! I can't use the boyd aluminum hooks...for some reason, they "snag and drag" on me, so I avoid them. I am a HUGE fan of the Susan Bates aluminum hooks, which are recognizable to me by their pretty pastel easter colors, lol! Those hooks make the yarn glide so well for me, and they are particularly helpful if I'm using Microspun. Now the Clover soft touch hooks: primo! Love them. Especially when a pattern calls for a smaller hook size. They are less fatiguing to use when you want to sit a crochet for long periods of time. I have periodic bouts of Raynaud's, which makes gripping anything in my hands more challenging....these hooks are a tremendous help.
