Mine is definitely sauv blanc, preferably Marlborough, NZ. I can't understand all the fuss over Chardonnay, to me it's too bland. I can't wait for the return of chenin blanc as the consummate cocktail wine.

It would be impossible to list all the white wine grapes for a poll . It depends upon my mood, the food, the weather, etc. Where the wine is produced makes a great deal of difference as well. Here is an article on Alternative White Wines.

Agreed, sorry I won't bother trying next time. Would be nice to have some nice conversation here though... it's a tad quiet.
Actually one of my fave whites is apple wine.

No, feel free to post a poll. Perhaps a poll of favorite red wine grapes among the most popular grapes.

I voted Sauvignon Blanc as that is a long time favorite being really tangy and sharp, but I have been tasting some really good Chenin Blancs recently. I'm not keen on Chardonnay or Viognier. There are many other pleasant whites but my white purchases are mostly Sauvignon Blanc.

I think that Sauvignon Blanc is a very food friendly wine, and I love it in summer. I don't think I have a favorite varietal, just favorite brands of certain wine grapes. But, I have to admit, sauvignon blanc and chardonnay for whites, and pinot noir and zinfandel for reds.

I like Beringer's white zinfandel but my favorite is the German Rieslings. Have not had a Sauvignon Blanc in a looooooong time. It seems I need to check out what's new with the Sauvignon's. Care to join me?

I really love Viognier. I'm primarily a red wine drinker, and have often heard this wine as being characterized as "The Red Wine Drinkers White Wine." So in the summer it is really a great wine for me when it is just a little too hot to enjoy a syrah.
