A question for those of you with multiple tattoos: Do you find an artist and only go to them or do you want art from many different artists?

I, personally, have found the perfect artist on my fourth tattoo. I will not go to anyone but her. She is talented and knows just what I want. I love Michelle Wortman's work and even considered getting a piece by her but I like the idea of the majority of my work being by the same person. It adds continuity, seeing as I want a full back, half sleeves and legs.

Now and then we had a hope that if we lived and were good, God would permit us to be pirates.-

Well, I've had a few times when I've thought, I'll just get work by this one person from now on, but you can't control a tattoo artist's life, or when or where they might move.

I strive for connection with whomever I get ink from and I've been fortunate to have had a variety of great artists work on me. The continuity is me, not necessarily my ink.

I`ve had all my work done with the same girl and I love her work, for me while it`s a work in progress it`s important.

Different ones.

There were times when I thought how wonderful it would be to have it done by one person but the continuity someone spoke of is actually continuity in variety. A little paradoxical but I hope that makes sense.

I've done my shopping around for each tattoo and am proud to say I made the best decision with which artist could have done best with the differing styles. I don't have one specific style on me, and most are custom that I've designed. Each reflects a part of who I am.

I rather enjoy learning from different artists also, and as someone else already mentioned we cannot control who moves where and where time takes us. As long as a person is committed in making the best decision there is for themselves regardless of whether or not it's the same artist, and confident with it.
