Hi everyone!
I am very concerned about one of my female bettas. I looked in the tank tonight and didnt see her anywhere! She had wedged herself between two stalks of her silk plant (but the stalks are plastic-y) and in her struggles to unwedge herself, rubbed her scales off. She got wedged right behind her gills (about a quarter of an inch). I will do a small water change tonight (since i know clean water is especially important in times like this) and add aquarium salt. I also have a small arsenal of meds:BettaFix, Maracyn2, anti bacterial food, AP+ anti-fungus and stress coat. would any of these be useful?? When i first freed her, she sank to the bottom and sat. Now (about 10 minutes later) she is swimming around. still seems a little shocked, but other than that, seems ok. i am just worried about her abraisions. Help! thanks!

I have used Melafix with good results on an angel and a catfish that had fin rot. It is an antibacterial fish remedy. It says it is extracted from tea trees and is an all natural fish remedy.

i was reading on the bottles, and saw that bettafix said it was good for open wounds, so i added some of that. would it be okay to use melafix in addition to??im really all for using as little as possible, not only because i know some of these remedies are just as stressful for them as the problem, but also because she is in a divided 10 with two others.

Also, another question. since i do have them in a divided 10 i was trying to figure out some way to keep them from seeing each other. i tried plants, it didnt work. i have some polyestery stuff that you put in the filter, not the media, but the stuff that looks like quilt filling that i had bought and i decided to try to attach it to the dividers. it workd great for a few days, thn i noticed one of my males worked his way (dont ask me how) between it and the plastic divider and got stuck. Should i just break this tank down and get them each a 2.5 from petsmart? or should i buy some of this and hope it will work on the dividers? http://www.petsmart.com/global/product_d...30106&Ne=2. If I get all new tanks, I would just need the tanks, heaters, and filters, so it would be a huge deal, and then i may even have the 10 as a hospital/quarantine tank, assuming i could find somewhere to put it...thoughts please? and sorry for rambling.

I'm pretty sure MelaFix and BettaFix are almost the same thing. They're both tea tree oils from what I can tell, so using both probably wouldn't do anything (good or bad), but you're better off not risking it.
