Hi Everybody...
I was just wondering...I'd like to create my own original patterns for crocheting (clothes, mainly). The problem is that while I can picture what I want to do in my mind, I cannot seem to incorporate it into a pattern of crochet stitches! It's sooo frustrating! Can anyone offer some guidance? Or does anyone know of a website that has a tutorial on such a thing?

Also....I have several knit patterns that I would love to make, but since I am not very good at knitting, I want to crochet them. But how?? I have the new book thats been out about pattern conversion (I think it's called "Needles to Hook", but I still am not getting the hang of it).

There is a book you can buy that tells how to convert from knit to crochet.

One of the best books that you can have to help design your own patterns is Designing Knitwear by Newton. It is for knitting but you can apply most of the information to crochet. I am seriously thinking about writing a book myself about designing crochet wear because there is a bit of a difference between designing for knit and crochet.

Oh, Eva....please, please: don't think about it, just write that puppy up!!!! I would be so thrilled if I was strolling through the bookstore and happened across a book like this~ I have practically every single crochet book on the shelves at Barnes & Noble, but a book like the one that you are entertaining the idea of authoring.......such a book does not exist yet!!Please let us know if you create this book, and put me down for one, lol!!
