Well I thought we would do Tambour but I am thinking of maybe sidetracking to a quick easy poncho. These are certainly very very popular right now. What does everyone else think ?

Either would be fine by me.

I had to look up what Tambour was. Is it just edgework or can you do more with it?

I have definitely seen alot of ponchos lately. Especially on American Idol. They've been wearing an assortment of crochet goodies.

You can do more than just edging, you can do beadwork and sequin work with it, fast, easy, and looks like a million bucks!!!! I guess I better watch American Idol as I am always on the look out for anything crocheted.

I'm a secret American Idol addict. heeheh.

It comes on tonight at 8 pm. Last week I just saw so much crochet stuff on the contestants. (while they were showing clips of their practice sessions during the week)

George huff was wearing a crochet hat (beanie?)
Jennifer Hudson was wearing a hat and poncho.
I think Diana DeGarmo was wearing a pink poncho.

Ok- don't get me started on all of this!

As far as Tambour, I saw the edgework that can be produced and that was beautiful. I take your word for it that the other stuff you can do is equally as beautiful. I'd love to learn to do that, too.

Either would be fine. My crocheting (& computer) time is severely limited for the next couple months while I pack to move 100 miles after my daughter's 8th grade graduation. & yes, it is a GOOD move! Into the mountains, out of the desert & into a small city with a small high school (about 1/2 the size of the high schools down here).

Would love to see either. I have been looking for a poncho pattern, especially the really open work type.
