Hi, Sherry.
I'm having a small party (wedding celebration) for about 20 people. I've settled on sushi because both bride & groom love it and so do I. But I'm wondering what to serve with it. Maybe not everyone will love it, or some people may not feel like it constitutes a full dinner, and I'm at a loss for what else to serve that would complement the sushi and satisfy the possible non-sushi lovers. Any thoughts?
Thank you!

Any chance of getting someone to perform a tea ceremony for the couple? <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> What about Miso soup and edamame, and a simple salad with some oriental vegtables with amiso-sesame dressing. Maybe a tray of pickeled vegtables-Oshinko. If this is not a sit down dinner, how about setting small dishes of Japanees snack crackers around, tea and hot and cold saki and plum wine.

Thank you, I think I've finallky got it sorted out. Definitely no chance of the tea ceremony, but it's a great idea.
BTW, I'm a JRT Owner too. Now if I could just figure out what to do with him during the party!

Just one tip - have some non-shellfish and non-seafood choices because lots of ppl are allergic to shellfish and/or seafood, and these types of allergies can be lethal. I LOVES sushi, love it, love it, love it...but I'm also severely allergic to shellfish!

I once ate some stunning vegan sushi made at a Buddhist-owned restaurant in Chicago. Think of the usual sushi roll, but made with apples, watercress and ginger. It was a very hot day and the meal was soooo light and refreshing.
