A woman should realize, when using cosmetics, that they are meant merely as enhancers of her natural beauty.
As a mature woman, I've asked other mature women when and why they began using cosmetics, and most of them replied, 'I began using cosmetics in my teens, to help me look more mature.' Not one of them said, 'To look younger'.
There's nothing less visually appealing than a mature woman wearing gobs of bright, hard, bold-colored makeup, in an attempt to 'youth-ify' herself. Less is best, for the mature gal.
And let's face it...no cosmetic, no plastic surgery procedure, nothing, can disguise the fact of age, that shows within one's eyes. Within those orbs lies the truth of how much of life one has lived!

I have to be honest, I do have a desire to look younger. I'm a new mom at 46 and I don't want my poor baby to grow up having everyong assuming I'm his grandma. If I didn't have a 6 month old, I might be inclined to let the grey grow out and quit coloring my hair. But then I'll look a lot more like "Grammy" than "Mommy". I guess I feel bad thinking about the little guy having to deal with that.

Do not women have a desire to look younger? I believe women have more of a desire to look their best, as opposed to merely looking younger.

"Since we are talking about large corporations, let me tell you that all products marked- Hypoallergenic are misleading consumers. FDA has no guidelines on this and anybody can label any product as Hypoallergenic. It is for the consumers to find out if the product can cause allergy. I know of a case when somebody using hair color developed a big patch of Melasma on the forehead. The allergy came on the forehead and not the scalp. After some investigation it was found out that the hair color was the culprit."
Hmmm, this may be why I can use no makeup! I have horrible problems finding foundation that doesn't break me out. I gave up a long time ago and now all I wear is eyeliner and mascera...maybe a couple of days a month at the most. Normally I do not wear makeup at all.

I also developed melasma on forehead because of dye. Same thing that you describe.

When you are young I don't believe you ever think you will age. Well I know I did not.
Good friends are like stars. You don't always see them but you always know they are there.
