Hi.
What is broomstick lace used for? I think it is beautiful and doesn't seem too difficult to do. I don't see anything about it on this site. I'd appreciate any opinions/info/patterns regarding it.
thanks

Baka,

My Mother used to do a lot of broomstick lace. She made afghans with it mostly. However, I also recall a vest she made with this stitch. I may have a couple of her old patterns somewhere, but won't have time to check until the weekend. I imagine a search for broomstick lace patterns would get you something. I also recall seeing an edging made with broomstick lace done in thread over a small knitting needle.

Of course we have broomstick lace http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art12699.asp and if you check under the Bellaonline library you will find an eyelash scarf pattern that uses the broomstick lace.

Thank you for the responses to my question.
Eva, I found your tutorials...and they are so clear and easy to understand! One of these days, I'd love to try this technique-I love the look.

A crochet instructor that I met was thinking about making a broomstick lace shower curtain for her bathroom and putting a plastic liner behind it. Thought it was a great idea. Anne
