I struggle to make my first practice swatch 20 stitches by 10 rows using the knit stitch.

I seem to go along fine for a few rows, then things go haywire.

Of course I only notice the problem after merrily knitting several rows past it.

I know how to unravel (Or is it ravel?) a few stitches on the needle and fix it. Is it possible to unravel one or more rows?

It's getting "old" to keep on starting from the beginning when I have some rows completed.

Hello Lucille~
It takes some practice and patience when it comes to learning a new craft. Knitting can be tough to learn for some. I know that I had many trials and errors. Dropped Stitches, knitting the row wrong and ripping.
About your question~Is it possibel to unravel one or more rows?
Yes, you can. You can take it stitch by stitch when you are ripping out or you can take the stitches off the needle and just rip down a few rows. You will have to pick up the stitches again to start knitting again.

Hi Lucille :rolling: Jackie is right but look on the bright side, you are actually learning more than you think. When I first started to knit I had to take it apart more than I care to count but because of that I can rip out a few rows with no worries. It all takes practice and patience. We are all here to encourage you along

Thank you, ladies! :music:

You gave me an approach to undo rows and possibly save the work that's good. I was afraid to rip out a row at a time, because I thought the stitches would disappear into a tangled mass. Then I might not be able to put them back on the needle.

But now I'll try your suggestion. Even if it doesn't work the first time, I know the method will come in handy later.
