Hi Karen,

What type of advise do you need? Are you hatching them yourself? Acquiring a young one? Feeding issues?

Peacocks are wonderful to have around if you have acreage. Our peacocks let us know when strangers enter the property. They'll even tackle snakes if they run across them.
It is very hard to raise them. The attrition rate is high. The first year our female peacock laid her eggs but didn't want to sit on them. We put them under our sitting hen but none made it.
The following year we put the eggs under a sitting turkey hen and we had wonderful results.
This year, again, with the turkey hen we have one peacock chick and are awaiting for the others to hatch.
If you live close to neighbors they may not appreciate the loud noises that peacocks can make. They sound like loud snorting horns, followed by loud screaches.
If you clip a couple of wing feathers they'll stay within your enclosed yard. They can fly high and fast without clipped wings.
If you get an adult bird, keep it inside its coop for a least three weeks and then you can let it outside during the days, but it must be inside at night due to night critters that cotton to domestic poultry for their dinners.
Any specific questions? Let me know.

Peacocks can be very beautiful but also very, very noisy. You don't want to keep them unless you really have the room to do so.

I recall once reading how former Attorney General Janet Reno has a flock of peacocks at her home in FL, all named Horace.

We didn't elect to have a peacock. He found us after hurricane Rita and decided to stay. He's about two-ish. Fully feathered, protective and very noisy.

Actually, I think he thinks he's a cat. He eats with the cats and hangs out with the cats all day.
