Lynn, I would like to hear and discuss your opposition to the Secure Fence Act. I will start a new thread for it since this thread is getting so long.

To say that Texans, as ageneral rule, are "proud of our former Governor" would be pushing it immensely, Brooke. You're proud of him and that's fine.

But currently, 58 percent of Texans aren't that happy with Bush.

Sorry, didn't mean to come across as speaking for an entire state. I will try to be more careful in my wording.

Just curious, where did you get the 58% statistic?

"George Bush is true to his wife."

Which makes him a good husband, possibly, but has little to do with his ability to lead a country.

As for the popularity rating, pick a poll, any poll (or pick up a newspaper)--Bush's popularity as of October 2006 is ranging from a low of 38 percent to a high of 42 percent.

Lynn, still curious, where did you get the statistic that "58% of Texans aren't happy with Bush"?

I just thought that rather than searching the web for "any poll" (as you suggested), you might could provide the source for your statistic.

The 58 is from Pollsters.

Rassmussen Reports indicate only 43 percent of Texans give Bush a positive rating on Iraq; and only 49 percent of Texans give him a positive rating on the economy. Overall, more than half of voters across the nation feel Bush is doing a poor job.
