Ok....so me and a friend stopped in at a local Harley Dealership yesterday...she was looking for clothes...I was looking at bikes. Learning to ride has been something that I have been thinking about doing for a long time, but just never had the guts to actually do it!...Well after sitting on a nice Sportster and standing it up I thought..."Hell Yeah, this I like!"...so I decided that tomorrow I will be signing up for my beginners Riding Course.
I am just looking for LOTS of input and LOTS of encouragement so I don't "wimp" out. I really want to do this, but sometimes my logical side wants to take over.

Good for you ItzMissE- glad you went ahead and did this. Good for you on the guts.

Thought you might like this, news of an all-women's ride. Some cool pics and they got to use a GPS system called TomTom Rider specially made for bikes- looks pretty cool.

I rode motorcycles for 42 years. I do not regret one minute of it. I stopped because I knew my reflexes were not as fast at 65 as they were a few years ago.

Bikes give you freedom!

I am getting a bike for the first time in my life and I am very excited about it. I've wanted one for YEARS! My mom wouldn't let me get it. Now My wife is one the same trip. But I refuse to have another regret. I have enough already. No more! I want to get a bike to get it out of my system and say I did it. After that I can start workig on the Barracuda. Bikes are absolute freedom. THey are also very dangerous, but what isn't these days? Live life and have no regrets. That's me.

I see a lot of new riders getting trikes.

Older bikers who have trouble holding a two wheeler up sometimes go to trikes, too.

I would try several out before I made this choice, though. I have driven a few that didn't handle curves very well.

There's never enough time to ride as far as I want!

I can't take my eyes off some of the bikers I see on our freeways. They do all kinds of tricks at tremendous speeds of well over 65 mph. Can you imagine riding on your back wheel at that kind of speed?

I found it to be pretty awesome...

You can have it... I prefer two wheels to one!

But, congrats to the lady who finally signed up for the riders course. My husband and I took a rider's course together at the beginning of 2005. I had to sell my bike in the middle of 2006 since repairs were getting to be too much on the 10 year old bike. But here in a few months I'll be riding a Yamaha V-Star, so I'm looking forward to being bi-wheeling again. Yay!! smile

Obviously I just found the motorcycle area. So, hello to everyone if you are still around!

It's me again! The Yamaha V-star series are beautiful bikes. My husband and I also ride together. I love motorcycling, the peace and freedom it affords. I have a Heritage Classic and so far no repairs. I am also thinking of buying a dirt bike to play around with when camping.

Hope you get your V-star soon. I am going to start a bike gallery within the next month so we can post pics of our beautiful rides.
