Make sure you separate them when you can tell the males from females, or they will all kill each other. I'm sure EMG or someone can give you some help raising them into full grown bettas...what are you gonna do with them after they are grown?

By the way...you've removed the male already, right? Otherwise he will probably start to eat the babies too. I'd find a bunch of little plastic cups to separate them out later, since you'll need only one male per cup.

I was thinking of breeding betta fish too, and selling them to people I know or just selling them but I wanna make sure they will have the time and such for the fish, I get attached to animals quickly so I'd have to make sure they had a good home before I could let them go, any tips for this would be great, I wanna make sure i make it comfy for the new borns and the mommy and daddy. Thanks lots.

Owning a betta is far differnet from breeding them. I too thought at one time that it would be fun to breed them, but if you look up information online, you'll see how much work it truly is. You can't just put two bettas in one tank and leave them there until they breed, because the male will kill the female, or at the very least make her life miserable. Also, the babies need to be separated out into seperate containers once you can tell the males from the females so that they don't fight and kill each other. You'll have a TON of little cups everywhere that will need daily water changes because they are so small, and fry are very succeptible to diseases when they are that young. You will also need various things to feed the fry throughout the life cycle...just like babies! I'm very sure it's a thouroughly rewarding and exhilerating experience when you do it, but you have to make sure you do it right, or it will just turn out to be a disappointment

Yeah, see my sister has a boyfriend whos mom breeds betta fish so she said she would help me out and only lives a few houses down from me. I just got a new betta and he's sooo pretty. ^_^ I dunno for sure yet if I really will breed. I'm just gonna think on it. I am able to aford everything for breeding and I am able to take the time needed for it. I dunno yet though.

Ahhh, connections

As long as you have the time and money and you want to, go for it! I'm not sure what you'll do with all the little buggers though :P

I was thinking I'd keep some and sell some to people I know could take care of them properly. I get attached easily to animals so I'd have to make sure the person who took my fish could give them proper lovely homes. ^_^ Yes yes, connections are grand hehehe. My new betta is really nice and he doesn't seem to be agressive at all, would that be a good thing for breeding? That way he doesn't annoy the female to death too much while shes laying eggs?

I got a book on breeding them, but I'm gonna just wait like I said.
