My husband and I are huge fans of British comedy, such as

Absolutely Fabulous
Little Britain
The Thin Blue Line
Blackadder

Jennifer Saunders is, IMO, the smartest woman in comedy today.

I am just starting to get into Little Britan. I like the others you mentioned and I like these too:

Last of the Summer Wine (I like to relax with that one)
Keeping Up Appearances
Red Dwarf

There are so many that I like!

My favorites are
Keeping Up Appearances
Time Goes By
To the Manor Born

I'm fanatical about making sure I see them every Saturday night. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I've seen a couple of episodes of To the Manor Born.( Audrey is such a snob!) I like As Time Goes By too. Both of these shows seem more sophisticated to me than the other ones.

You said you watch them on Saturday night. Are you an Eastenders Fan?

Eastenders isn't offered in my programming - at least when I'm awake <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> . I have heard of it.

I love Hyacinth. She actually reminds me very much of a friend of mine.

I was introduced to Monty Python when I was in high school and was very lucky in that MTV soon thereafter ran the lovely 80s show The Young Ones. That one has got to be my fave British comedy. I got into French & Saunders and AbFab from that.

ack, how could I forget Hyacinth Bucket!? LOL, awesome show.

I've been wanting to see Last of the Summer Wine...
I like the Young Ones too.

Ab Fab makes sure to make fun of every new fad out there.

I love Jennifer Saunders too...though I hope Ab Fab is finished now as the scripts were getting tired & rehashed. IMO Fawlty Towers got it right finishing on a high- as did Father Ted which I watch often with my daughter who just loves it- though I think dying to prevent further filming is a tad extreme.

We've been watching Black Books too. I don't know if you've had that in the USA, but it is written by Dylan Moran, the same writer as Father Ted & is just brilliantly funny. Watch out for it!

They showed Black Books a couple of years ago on the Comedy Channel and I managed to tape the 4 or 5 episodes they showed. I love Father Ted. (I'm confused about what you mean by "dying to prevent further filming" though.)

I love Hyacinth but she could not be my next door neighbor (she could probably be more tolerable if she was a couple of houses down from me. That way I could see her coming and hide. <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />) All those candlelight dinners and alarm-warming parties would drive me nuts (alarm-warming party? Yeesh!).

I just watched the birthday episode of AbFab because I just turned 40 (although I'm really 30 and I'm sticking to it <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> ) And I watched the birthday episode of Gimme Gimme Gimme. You see, its so hard to pick a favorite!

Television has gotten so horrible these past couple of years, I'm so glad that I have so many of these programs on tape.

Ah sadly the actor that played Ted passed away suddenly. Much missed <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
